143 Years of Service

A History Rooted in Springfield

Oak Grove Cemetery has stood as a cornerstone of the Springfield community for nearly a century and a half. From its founding in 1881 through the construction of the landmark Bay Street brownstone archway in 1884, Oak Grove has been a place where families come together to honor those they’ve loved and lost.

Second Location

The Cottage Street Annex

Formerly St. Joseph’s Cemetery, the Cottage Street Annex at 260 Cottage Street in Springfield was founded in 1938 and has served the Catholic Polish community and broader Springfield area for decades. In 2012, the property was brought under Oak Grove management to ensure continued, quality care of the grounds and the families who depend on them.

Today, the Annex operates as a fully integrated part of Oak Grove Cemetery. Both sites share the same commitment to dignified care and responsive service for families across Western Massachusetts.
